Hotels

Your accommodation booking can be made at the same time as you register. If you have already registered, you should go to the registration page again. After you complete your name and contact details, you will come to a drop down list of registration categories. You should select "Pre-registered: booking accommodation/social $0.00". You can then progress and book your accommodation.

The deadline for guaranteed hotel reservations through the Conference Secretariat is 26 July 2010. Bookings after this date will be subject to room availability.

Large blocks of rooms in hotels, motels and apartments have been secured by the Conference Secretariat to ensure best available rates. The number of rooms available in the hotel list is limited and the Conference Secretariat reserves the right to confirm a non-listed hotel, motel or apartment if the listed property is fully booked.

A deposit of one night’s accommodation is required to secure the reservation. This deposit will be forwarded to the hotel and will be deducted from the final account. A tax invoice will be issued by the hotel. Guests are responsible for paying the balance to the hotel on departure. Failure to arrive on the date specified will incur forfeiture of deposit. Final dates must be advised at least 30 days out from your arrival date – otherwise cancellation fees may apply to all nights that are cancelled. This policy varies from hotel to hotel.

Please note that the day prior to the commencement of the conference – Saturday, 25 September – is the Grand Final Day of the Australian Football League. This means that Melbourne hotel tariffs will be at a premium for this night – and possibly one or two nights prior to the Grand Final night. If you intend to stay at your hotel prior to the 26th September, please read the extra rate details listed below the relevant hotel.

Check in/out Time for Hotels

Hotel check-in time is 14:00 hr on the day of arrival and check out at 10:00 hr on the day of departure. Many international flights arrive in the early morning and immediate access to rooms will depend on availability. To guarantee access, the room must be booked for the previous night.

Terminology

All hotels, motels and apartments have en-suite bathroom facilities. A hotel or motel is generally one room accommodating 1-2 persons with one double bed (double) or two single beds (twin). An apartment has one or two separate bedrooms normally with a double bed in the master bedroom and single beds in the second bedroom. The rates are for room only and do not include breakfast unless specified.
