Social Events
Your social event bookings can be made at the same time as you register. If you have already registered, you should go to the registration page again. After you complete your name and contact details, you will come to a drop down list of registration categories. You should select "Pre-registered: booking accommodation/social $0.00". You can then progress and book your social events.
Monday, 27 September – Welcome Reception 18:00 – 20:00 – Exhibition Hall
To set the scene for the Conference, an informal welcome reception will be held in the exhibition area of the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre. Drinks and light refreshments will be served.
Cost: One ticket to the Welcome Reception is included in the full-time registration fee.
$A50.00 per person for accompanying guests and day participants.

Tuesday, 28 September – Cocktail Reception 18:00 – 19:00 – Exhibition Hall
Relax at the end of the day over a drink and pre-dinner nibbles. The trade exhibition will be in full swing so there will be time to visit the booths and have “passports” stamped.
The “Passport Competition” is a regular occurrence at the ComBio annual meetings and is designed to encourage you to support the trade exhibition by visiting their booths. “Passports” (small booklets) are included in the Conference satchels and participants must have their passports stamped at each of the exhibition booths to be eligible to win terrific prizes.
Cost: $A10.00 per full-time registrant.
$A30.00 per person for accompanying guests and day participants.

Wednesday, 29 September – Student Lunch with the Overseas Speakers: 13:00 – 14:00
Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre – venue to be advised
All students are invited to collect their lunch boxes and meet with the plenary and overseas symposia speakers to have an informal chat.
Tickets will be included in all student registration envelopes which will detail venue of the lunch (within the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre).
Thursday, 30 September – Gala Conference Dinner 19:30 – 23:45
The Banquet Room, Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre
A three-course meal and beverages will be served in The Banquet Room of the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre which affords spectacular views of Melbourne’s skyline. The Gala Dinner will be a truly memorable evening in this wonderful setting.
Cost: $A110.00 per registrant/partner. A discounted rate of $75 is available to student registrants only and does not extend to partners.
