Thompson Prize Application

Format
Applicants will submit an abstract for a short talk about their work plus a 1-2 page CV including contact details. Up to five finalists will be selected on the basis of these abstracts and will present their work at the Thompson Prize evening, which will be held at an announced location. The winner will be selected by a panel of judges and the prize ($600) awarded shortly after all of the talks have been completed.

Eligibility
You must be a current member of the Sydney Protein Group. If you are not currently on the SPG mailing list, please send an email to sydneyproteingroup@gmail.com. You must also be a current research student, or within twelve months of having received notification of successfully completing your PhD or Masters. Previous winners as well as previous finalists of this prize are not eligible.

Abstracts for 2023 due on: 31/10/2023

THE TITLE SHOULD BE IN CAPITALS AND IN BOLD TYPEFACE

1, 2, 3 Institutional addresses corresponding to each author in italics. Applicant’s name should be in bold typeface.

Leave a single line space before starting the body of the abstract text which should be single spaced. Do not use font sizes less than 12 point. The preferred typeface is Times New Roman. The text of the abstract should not exceed 250 words.

ALL ABSTRACTS and CVs MUST BE EMAILED AS A SINGLE .RTF OR .PDF FILE, ALONG WITH CONTACT DETAILS IN THE BODY OF THE EMAIL, TO sydneyproteingroup@gmail.com

You must also ask your supervisor to send an email confirming your status as a student (either current or recent). Recently completed students should also supply a copy of notification of completion of their research degree (either a scanned or electronic copy or a hard copy) to be received on the announced date.
