Tracey Kuit is a teaching-intensive Professor in the School of Chemistry and Molecular Bioscience and the Associate Dean (Education) for the Faculty of Science, Medicine, and Health at the University of Wollongong.
Tracey is a passionate educator who has successfully led innovation in all courses she has coordinated, leading to positive outcomes for the student experience. She is an active mentor in all facets of learning and teaching in Higher Education. Tracey is Chair of the Education Special Interest Group and Council Member of the Australian Society for Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (ASBMB) and a member of the Education and Training Committee for the International Union of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology (IUBMB). Tracey is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (Advance HE, UK) and a Senior Fellow of the Wollongong Academy for Tertiary Teaching and Learning Excellence (WATTLE).
Tracey’s research-driven approach has significantly influenced her teaching methods and the development of community outreach programs. Her learner-centered philosophy is evident in her dedication to nurturing T-shaped graduates—individuals with deep disciplinary knowledge and broad interdisciplinary skills. Tracey utilises frameworks such as the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals to have students develop creative solutions to some of society’s biggest challenges. Tracey is committed to mentoring and supporting others, ensuring a ripple effect of her educational ethos.
