Sharing Practice: A Focus on Assessment and Academic Integrity

The ASBMB Education Symposium ‘Sharing Practice: A Focus on Assessment and Academic Integrity’ was held on 28 September 2021. The Education Symposium provided a platform for biochemistry and molecular biology educators and students to share their insights and experiences to recognise good practice in assessments and to transform the student learning experience as we move forward.

 
Keynote Speakers

Keynote Address #1, Cheating and online learning, was given by Professor Phillip Dawson, Associate Director, Centre for Research in Assessment and Digital Learning (CRADLE) at Deakin University. He leads CRADLE’s research into academic integrity and the security of online assessments. His most recent books are Defending Assessment Security in a Digital World (Routledge, 2021) and Re-Imagining University Assessment in a Digital World (Springer, 2020).

Keynote Address #2, Shifts in student behaviours during COVID-19: impacts of social interaction on academic integrity, was given by Associate Professor Ann Rogerson, Associate Dean (Education), Faculty of Business and Law, University of Wollongong.
